The fur of white-tailed fawns is covered in numerous tiny white dots. Because the dots make them more difficult to see in tall grass, these act as camouflage. The white-tailed fawn hides in the tall grass while its mother is out foraging. It lays its head and neck down flat as it spreads out across the earth.
